Before photo. Boring and brown. Ready for a makeover! Remove hardware and begin!

Using Dixie Belle Mud fill existing holes for new hardware.

Clean the entire piece with White Lightning. Vacuum inside and sand down the mud to smooth

Color for this project is Antebellum Blue.

Paint one even coat to cover all wood surface. Using a misting bottle to keep application smooth.

One coat on. Wait until dry to apply a second coat.

Using a misting bottle when you apply your second coat helps keep paint even and smooth.

Two even coats complete. Time to begin the top. I used Espresso Gel Stain.

This is a easy to apply stain that goes on over top of existing finishes.

Wearing gloves and using a rag wipe on in the direction of the wood grain. Two even coats.

Using Caviar apply to the inside lid to make a chalkboard area. Two even coats.

Use a spray misting bottle to eliminate brush strokes.

Seal the area when dry with matte clear coat for protection.

Apply black wax to the details to add depth. Seal with a matte clear coat to the entire base.

Install new hardware. Coat the Espresso stain with a satin clear coat for protection.

Prime the chalkboard area with chalk. Wipe back and then write a message!

Stage area with fun bar items to match the writing. Place inside the original copper tray.

Note the detail in the finished edges and new hardware.
