Sand your piece. I sanded it with 80 grit to take the old stain out. You can use any lower grit.

I used clear BOSS. It is a water based primer to block tannins, bleeds, odors.

I am using a flat brush to apply Boss. Two thin coats with a dry time of 2-4 hours in between each.

It dries clear so it’s best to do two coats to cover any spots left in the first coat.

Once the BOSS dried, I painted over it in Dixie Belle The Gulf with no bleeds.
