The Metro is Lisbon’s subway system and is a great way to get around the city!
55 stations are served by 4 metro lines.
The four lines are color coded: Blue, Green, Yellow and Red
The lines were formally know by picturesque themes & logos, many still refer to them by these names
The blue line, Linha Azul is the Linha da Gaivota: the Seagull line
The yellow line, Linha Amarela is the Linha do Girassol: the Sunflower line
The green line, Linha Verde is the Linha de Caravela: the Caravel line
The red line, Linha Vermelha is the Linha do Oriente: the Orient line
The Metro runs from 6:30am to 1:00am, trains run every 6-9 minutes.
Tickets can be purchased at any metro station at the ticket office or from a ticket machine.
Tickets are used to enter the station...
And to leave!
When boarding be sure to let people off first!
On the train, the next station stop is displayed by an electronic sign on the ends of each car.
