Peel & thinly slice russet potatoes.
Butter bottom of your baking dish.
A pinch of salt won’t hurt!
Arrange potatoes in baking dish.
Add salt/pepper/garlic salt on top of first level.
Add sliced onions on top of first layer.
Make a roux. 3-4 tbs butter + 3 tbs flour.
Add milk to the roux.
Add a little cream & stir
Add 1/4 cup sharp white cheddar
Add 1/2 cup mild sharp cheddar & stir
Season the sauce w/ salt/pepper/garlic salt
Add another 1/2 cup of cheese & stir
1st later should look like this
Sprinkle a little shredded cheese on 1st layer, then add 2nd layer of potatoes & onions on top.
Add your cheese sauce!
Stir this up a little bit then cover, place in the oven on 400 for about 35 mins or fork tender.
