What you’ll need
Pre-made pie
Pastry Brush
Cookie Sheet
Tin Foil
Egg
Scissors
Turbinado “Sanding” Sugar
Preheat your oven to 425F

Cut tin foil into long strips

Wrap the strips of tin foil around the outer crust, cover top with tin foil

Place the pie on a cookie sheet to prevent any drips

Bake pie, round 1

Crack the egg and mix the yolk together

Bake pie, round 2: Turn oven down to 375F, leave pie in oven for 20 min

Remove pie and tin foil and brush on the egg wash, careful to not spill in pie filling

Sprinkle with sanding sugar (clean excess off cookie tray before putting in oven)

Bake pie round 3: Bake in the oven without tin foil for 15 min. (6”) or 20 - 25 min. (9”)

When timer is up, turn your broiler on low and rotate pie with tongs for 2 min., careful not to burn
