1 can, drained
2 cloves, minced
Remove sausage casing and crumble. Cook in a Dutch oven on medium heat.
Render the fat for 3 to 4 minutes until the meat is cooked. Push the meat aside and add the shallot.
Sauté the shallot for 2 to 3 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the spices, bay leaf and salt. Then stir in the tomato paste.
Add the broth and beans. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, simmer on medium-low for 30-45 minutes.
Sprinkle the corn meal on top and stir in to thicken.
Let cool for 20 minutes off heat and cover. Store in the fridge over night.
Reheat and enjoy with sour cream, chives and cheese.
