Start with a shape of clay similar to the slab you will roll.
For small slabs, clap it out in your hands. (No rolling pin or table cover required.)
To roll on the table, cover first with a sheet or fabric. You must tie it, clamp,or tape it tightly.
Roll and then turn, roll and turn. This allows the clay to stretch but not stick.
Use pressure across the middle, try not to roll over the edge.
Make thickness guide strips with craft sticks. This is helpful for beginners.
Connect 4 craft sticks with double sided tape. Repeat with 4 more.
Slabs can be cut to size with a ruler, a template or cutters.
Slabs can be cut with a needle tool, knife, wooden stylus, a sharp pencil, or even a paper clip.
