What you’ll need
Linoleum Block Or Easy Cut Block
1 Sheet Of Paper
Speedball Carving Tool
Brayer
Water Based Block Printing Ink
Magazine Page & Tape
Draw the design for your block.

Shade in your drawing. The shaded areas will be the raised areas on your block.

Lay your block on top of the design. Flip over and rub gently with thumb/nail or a spoon.

Peek to check that your design has transferred.

Retrace any outlines before carving.

Always carve away from your body. Make sure your hand is to the side. Slide the tool. Do not scoop!

Squeeze a small drop of ink on to a piece of magazine paper.

Roll the brayer over the ink - top to bottom. Do not roll back and forth.

Roll the inked brayer over your block. Make sure every raised area is covered with ink.

Lay a piece of paper on top of the inked block. Rub with your fingertips or the side of your hand.

Peek to make sure the ink is transferring well.

Peel off the paper and sign your work!
