8 steps
Place 2T loose leaf black tea into a teabag

Pour approx. 2 c. boiling water over teabag in a gallon size glass container

Let steep for 5 minutes, then remove bag and add 1 c. organic unrefined sugar

Mix until sugar is dissolved then add water to just below shoulder of jar. Leave room for SCOBY

When the fresh batch of sweet tea cools to the temperature of the ready kombucha, it’s harvest time

Pour 1 c. of completed kombucha into the new batch of sweet tea. Transfer 1 SCOBY to the new batch

Cover the fresh batch with a cloth & toss or save the extra SCOBY and 1 c. of starter for a friend
