Remove the base of the Brussels sprout, just enough to remove the outer leaves from the stem.
Peel off as many outer leaves as you can, pulling from the stem so you don’t tear the delicate tops.
When you can’t remove any more leaves, trim the stem again.
Repeat, removing as many leaves as you can until you have a tiny lil bit left which you can discard.
