How toDye Leather Shoes
7 steps
What you’ll need
1 bottle
Nail polish remover or leather deglazer
1 bottle
Shoe dye
1 pair
Shoes
1 tin
Shoe wax/polish
Use nail polish remover (with acetone) and a cotton pad to remove any finishes on the shoes.
1
Choose a much darker color, as lighter colors will show streaks and blotches.
2
Once the shoes dry, coat dye on the leather. Don’t let it drip too much. First coat looks streaky.
3
Don’t forget to do both shoes!
4
Let the first coat of dye dry, and then do a second coat. For a darker appearance, do a 3rd.
5
Go into hard-to-reach spots with a q-tip.
6
Once the dye has dried, take a soft cloth and rub/buff the shoes with shoe wax.
