Clean with White Lightning.
Remove hardware and fill holes with Dixie Belle Mud.
Check for needed repairs.
This table has a faux leather top. In order to paint on this surface Slick Stick is needed.
Boring front needs a update. WoodUbend mouldings are bendable, and stainable. Heat and apply.
The trim arrives in a roll. Heat with a hair dryer or heat gun. Unroll and straighten.
Using wood glue to adhere. Flatten to the front and heat again to ensure it’s flat. Ready to paint!
Sand back the Mud from the holes. Here we go!
Drawer fronts will be painted in Farmhouse Green. You paint directly over the new trim.
I like to highlight drawer fronts in a contrasting color. Paint two even coats.
Plan for the base is blue ombré. In The Navy, Bunker Hill Blue & Vintage Duck Egg.
A spray bottle and separate brushes will be used.
In The Navy to start, the Bunker Hill into Vintage Duck Egg. Lay base colors down. Separate brushes
On the second coats blend together using your misting bottle. Create a ombré blend.
Apply Cotton to the top of the table over the Slick Stick. Slick Stick must be dry for 24 hours.
Using painters tape mark off and tape stripes on the drawer front. These will be painted.
Moonshine Metallics in Caribbean. The trim will be Gold Digger.
Paint the edge at the top to match. Moonshine Metallics in Caribbean.
Multiple coats of metallic paint will be needed to cover.
Tape off feet and paint as well. Two coats.
Remove tape. Touch up any needed areas.
Gold Digger for the WoodUbend trim. Paint two even coats.
Prepare for taping off the top.
Mark and tape off even diamond shapes to the top. Burnish edges down.
Paint the areas in Caviar. Two even coats.
Big Mamas Butta helps the drawer glide easier and smells wonderful. Apply to wood glides.
After the paint has dried remove carefully. The point in the middle will be a circle in gold.
I used partial pieces of two transfers. Baroque and Lovely Ledger. These are Re Design by Prima.
Plan transfer placement and cut to size.
Transfers are applied using a wooden tool. Burnished down and peeled back.
Cut and apply.
Drawer front and top.
Since partial transfer didn’t stick (this happens sometimes) I plan on adding gold leaf over top.
Apply gold leaf using clear coat. Brush on and stick down.
Using a circle glass top, trace a line. Then paint with Gold Digger. Multiple coats will be needed.
Smooth even strokes. Build to the desired coverage.
Plan new knob placement.
Drill new holes.
Remove excess gold leaf with a clean paint brush. I do this outside, it’s messy.
Clear wax to seal the entire piece.
Whimsy and fun design.
Stage and photograph.
Shiny metallics and a whole new style.
Colors are bold and beautiful!
