What you’ll need
Vanilla Cupcakes
Large Round Tip (#2A)
Food Color Black
Buttercream Frosting
Rose Tip #104 (or smaller)
Spoon
Gold Sanding Sprinkles

Piping Bags
Food Color Yellow
Gold Confetti Sprinkles
Mix up your gold frosting (yellow with a tiny bit o’red)

Place your large circle tip at the end of your piping bag

Put your piping bag in a cup (tip down) and fill with your gold frosting

Smooth your frosting to the tip of the bag, twisting to seal off the end

Pipe a round, medium sized dollop in the middle

Smooth out the frosting so there are no peaks

Gently dip into your circle sprinkles first (this is the gold!)

Lightly press the sprinkles to the frosting to secure; shape the gold to be round and tall

Dust gold sanding sprinkles in any areas you missed for extra sparkle

Mix up your “pot” buttercream, until you reach a dark grey

With the rose tip at the end, fill a new piping bag with grey frosting, smoothing & twisting the bag

With the narrow side closest to the gold, pipe all the way around (try to stay on the cupcake)

If your frosting is getting droopy, use the end of a spoon to shape it back up (re-cover with grey)

If your frosting is hanging over the edge, gently pull off excess
