Cook dried chickpeas (3-4 cups) or use 2-3 cans, depending on your casserole size (wash before)

Cover with water, add salt, cumin, red pepper flakes & 3 minced garlic cloves

In a blender, put HALF your chickpeas, 4 Tblspns tahini, 3-4 Tblspns lemon juice & 5 Tblspns yogurt

Blend till consistency is very smooth. Taste & adjust the salt and lemon juice

If you have dry pita, you can use that or put 2 pita breads in the oven until crispy- healthy option

Traditional Fatteh is made with fried pita. Cut into small-medium squares and fry away

Layer into casserole. FIRST LAYER TO FATTEH

Prepare topping: 2 cups plain yogurt, 2 minced garlic cloves & salt to taste.

We also like to add dried ground mint (optional) to the yogurt topping

Frying almonds until golden, you can use veg. oil or butter

Once golden, add cooked & seasoned with salt & black pepper ground beef

Bring the remaining half of your chickpeas. Make sure your seasoning tastes good!

Poor the whole chickpeas mix & their sauce, don’t add to much sauce. Then the blended humus & yogurt

Finally layer: almonds and ground beef - chopped parsley and pomegranate seeds are optional
