Markers: Blending
Mixed Media Paper
Caliart Markers
Caliart markers are great for beginners, and are double sided!
1
The larger side is used to cover larger areas. The smaller side is better for detailed shading!
2
The same techniques can be applied to the thinner side of the marker when it comes to blending.
3
Blending is important as it adds depth. It can change the perspective and piece drastically.
4
Note: Get thick paper. I used mixed media paper. You can layer more without bleeding thru the paper.
5
Here is a written version of blending caliart markers.
6
To blend your markers, find similar colors and create a base with the lightest one. (#1)
7
Take the medium color(#2) and create a layer over the lightest one(#1) wherever you please.
8
Then, go back with color #1, blending in the sides, and creating a light layer over #2.
9
Then, go in with your darkest color (#3)blend it in with #2, and blend #2 in with #1.
10
Again! Blending in #1 and #2.
11
Blending in the darkest color, and working backwards from dark to light to blend it all together.
