Banana Cream Pie with a Chocolate Layer

For Chocolate Layer: Microwave 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips & 1/4 cup heavy whip cream until smooth.

Pour the melted chocolate into a pie shell that can be purchased or homemade. Freeze for 20 min.

Add 2/3 cup sugar,3 tbsp.corn starch, 1/4 tsp.salt & 3/4 cup whole milk with 1/4 cup half & half.

Whisk to mix in.Heat kettle on medium until milk is hot, bubbly and thick. Remove from heat.

Add 3/4 cup of hot milk to 3 egg yolks Add the egg yolks back into the rest of the hot milk mixture.

Stir in 2 tbsp.butter, 1 tsp.vanilla extract. Mix in let it cool to warm temperature.

Arrange 3 or 4 sliced bananas on top of the chocolate in the pie shell.

Pour in the warm pie filling on top of the bananas.Put in refrigerator to chill for 2 hours.
