Making A Chiaroscuro Portrait Part 2
The first pass of added value
Notice: I have too much shadow above the eye but this is an easy fix because its my first pass
Second pass: blending some of your base values when you are confident in your placement
Take your time, work your way in!
I like to throw in my true black in my second pass to understand my mid tones better
Your last pass should be fine details. See the detail before and after in the lips?
Last, leave it alone. Come back at a later date to fine tune. You see the whole much better that way
I still have a bunch to do to differentiate my midtones, but it is time to call it a day! Have fun!
It is a new day and with fresh eyes I can tackle my midtones and some technical issues!
