We toured w/ ‘Inside Lisbon’, Trip Advisors 2018 Travelers’ Choice winner & started in Rossio Square Rossio Square has been one of the main squares since the middle ages and is a popular meeting place The first shop ever to sell Ginjinha, the popular beverage of Lisboa, a sour cherry liquor As we walked around we got to see a family owned shop that sold salted cod, a Portuguese staple! Then we took the (very packed!) tram to Alfama! (The tram gets super close to the buildings!) 🚃 We hopped off at Alfama, Lisbons oldest district, and took in its beautiful Moorish architecture This brick wall is a thousand years old!!!! Navigation tip for Lisbon: street names are on the walls of the buildings often at intersections. After walking through Alfama we stopped for some cheese, meats and wine. Saúde! We had delicious pastel de nata (so good!) that energized us for some more sightseeing including.. The worlds oldest bookstore!!! 📚 Largo do Carmo, site of the Carnation Revolution. Squares like this often have kiosks and live music Our last stop was the Santa Justa lift. A great view of the city waits at the top for just 1,5€ Lisbon is an absolutely beautiful city! Obrigada Inside Lisbon and Miguel for showing us around! The music you heard on this Jumprope was Senhora do Monte by Bárbara Passos.
