In our Collage Basics tutorial we used glue sticks. This tutorial introduces alternate adhesives.
1
Elmer’s Glue All in small cups and cheap brushes is another good adhesive option for collage.
2
Turn each piece over and paint glue on back around ALL edges of the shape. Press down everywhere.
3
Modge Podge is another adhesive that some artists like to use as an overall finish coat.
4
Modge Podge is best applied with a paint brush and goes on milky white.
5
When dry it will be clear.
6
Elmer’s Glue All can be used for this clear overall finish, too. It will be white while wet ...
7
... and will also dry clear.
8
One more idea: you can draw with Sharpies on top of collages, with or without the clear coating.
