To create a stencil for your Christmas Tree in DS, first insert a tree & change to desired size.
1
Hide the tree layer & create 11 x 11 squares.
2
Position the squares using the H & V axis. 0:0, 0:11, 0:22, 0:33, 11:0, 11:11, 11:22, 11:33
3
Position your tree over all the squares.
4
Hide all the squares but 1, select the tree & the square, slice! Then delete all the excess pieces.
5
Repeat this step until your entire tree is sliced into parts that will fit on your mat.
6
MOVE STAR WHEELS TO EACH SIDE. Cut your tree stencil out of chipboard using light chipboard setting.
7
Put your stencil together on top of the felt like a puzzle.
8
Tape together on both sides for extra sturdiness.
9
Trace the stencil with a marker.
10
Cut out your tree with scissors.
11
Layer the felt tree on top of the stencil & punch hole at the top. Tie together with twine.
12
Use double sided tape to adhere the felt tree to the stencil.
13
Trim HeatNBond to fit the back of each felt sheet you’ll be cutting ornaments & lights from.
14
Use Easy Press or Iron to adhere HeatNBond to felt sheets. I used 340 degrees for 5-8 seconds.
15
Let the HeatNBond cool before peeling the backing off.
16
Add images of ornaments & lights from DS.
17
Add a square & resize to the size of your felt sheets. Mine were 8 x 11.
18
Arrange ornaments & lights to fit on the shape of your felt sheets. Hide shape. Attach. “Make It”.
19
Load felt sheets shiny side down one by one. Cut with Rotary blade & “Felt, craft bonded” setting.
20
Repeat for all sheets of felt to create a beautiful selection of ornaments & lights for your tree.
21
Adhere HeatNBond sides of ornaments & lights together with Easy Press to make them double sided.
22
Repeat for all so both sides will stick to the felt tree. I put different colors together.
23
TOPPER: Add Simple star in DS, duplicate, cut out of felt with HeatNBond, heat press together.
24
Hang the tree on a command hook & enjoy endless decorating fun!
